This weeks d.i.y. skin care recipe is for a strawberry acne mask! Strawberries are an excellent source of natural salicylic acid which is the same ingredient present in most commercial acne products. Honey is a natural antibacterial agent as well as a humectant, which helps the skin retain moisture. The egg white in this recipe helps to tighten pores often visible in oily and acneic skin types. Together these powerful natural ingredients combine for one awesome facial mask for problem skin!

Here's what you'll need:
1/2 cup fresh strawberries
1 egg white
2 tsp honey

My strawberries were VERY ripe so if you have any left over strawberries make this mask instead of throwing them out! And be sure to use the leaves and all because they contain anti inflammatory properties for your troubled skin!

Toss all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth, or you can use a fork and just mash them all up.

The end result will look something like this:

To use, spread the mixture over your entire face and neck and let site for 20 minutes. Avoid any overly dry or sensitive areas. You'll be able to feel the mask tighten as it dries. Rinse with cool water and gently dry.

You can refrigerate this mask for up to a week! I used an old jar I saved and labeled the lid with the date. This mask is gentle enough to use a few times during the week and as always you can share the mask with a friend so there's no waste! =]

And on a side note....

I hope everyone has a great day and enjoys experimenting with this weeks mask! Next week I'll be doing something different and showing you how to make your own bath bombs!!

  1. I'm so happy that you're my friend! You seriously make these things seem so easy.

  2. This is such a great idea, I'll have to try it!

  3. Jami that's because it is simple! =]
& thanks Emma it's such a great mask! Your skin will feel super soft afterwards!
